The Castillo's southwest bastion displays a distinctive ship's prow-like tilt to its leading edge. Was this intentional? The mighty Spanish vessel slicing through the sea of its enemies and/or colonial underlings? The Castillo's moat was partially backfilled in the 1990's, so the initial appearance of a bastion's edge from this angle may have looked substantially different in ye olden dayes!
