As we have mentioned, Fort Pike's present breakwater is made up of the detritus left over from the previous Rigolets Pass Bridge (also known as the Fort Pike Bridge for some reason). Throughout Fort Pike's history there has generally been a breakwater at this location, but like everything else that isn't nailed down in this turbulent place, they tend to wash away. Click here to see more of these heroic rocks, which were magically transmogrified from a bridge into their present state in 2008.
