Turning back to the North Redoubt's rear, we see the huge expanse of Fort Niagara's Parade Ground. The forlorn little white shed in the center is a Blacksmith Shop, which we will visit later. I was told by a dude pounding on a nail therein that the interior of the fort had been filled with such little shops and tents in times of war: That's where most of the garrison (and their families) lived and went about their daily business.
