Further up the island is a defunct Officer's Club (with a really nice pool that sure looks like it still gets some use, but like everything else at Fort Monroe, it was like a ghost town when I visited), with what I believe is a French 75 sitting out front! The only clue as to its identity is the manufacturer's plate. Tulle is a city in France that was a huge armament manufacturer for hundreds of years. One's first impression is that this would be some sort of captured piece, but...captured from whom, one wonders? I guess when you need a field piece to set in front of your Officer's Club, you're not all that picky as to its heritage.
