Amongst the pile of bricks that is securely nestled in Fort Mississauga's Northern Powder Magazine is Starfort life! In the form of a robin's nest with two lovely eggs!

The genesis of these bricks is unknown: No signing in this part of the fort. Much of the building materials used to build Fort Mississauga was taken from the ruins of the Canadian town of Newark, which had been burned by the Americans when they vacated Fort George in December of 1813. Could some of these bricks be from that debacle? I would have asked mama robin had she not taken wing, leaving her delicious young ones to my mercy. Good thing I wasn't hungry!
