A couple of World War Two dudes in their comfy Fort Macon digs. Over a hundred Allied ships were sunk or damaged by German U-Boats off the coast of North Carolina during WW2, beginning in January of 1942. The Kriegsmarine proved unable to make it to US shores with anything other than U-Boats, but nobody really knew what to expect, so Fort Macon was armed and garrisoned, just in case.
