I parked about halfway up the hill to Fort Griswold, in front of an extremely friendly gentleman's house. The stroll through these trees was relatively pleasant and fragrant, but it was a bit of a slog, and I was not dressed up like a Redcoat, so I can only imagine what that slog would've been like for an attacking force. Hopefully the British had a better GPS than I did, and parked up at the top of the hill.
